What it does
md/convert turns Markdown into ten document formats: PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OpenDocument, Rich Text,
EPUB, HTML, LaTeX and plain text. Paste your text or open a .md file, pick a format and download
the result. There is no account to create and nothing to install.
It is handy for README files, meeting notes, documentation, answers from AI chat tools, or anything else you wrote in Markdown and now need to send to someone who doesn't use it.
How it works
- Paste or open. Your browser reads the file; only its text is sent, never the file itself.
- Pick a format. Each format has its own page explaining exactly what is converted and how.
- Convert. The text is converted on our server by pandoc, with WeasyPrint for PDF. The file downloads straight away.
The conversion runs in an isolated, temporary workspace that is deleted as soon as your file has been sent back. Documents are never written to logs or kept. For security, the converter does not read files or fetch web addresses that appear in your document.

Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on how often you convert, apart from a fair-use rate limit that keeps the service available for everyone.
Do you keep my documents?
No. Your text is sent to our server, converted in a temporary workspace and deleted as soon as the file has been sent back. Documents are never written to our logs. See the privacy policy for details.
How large can a document be?
Up to 512 KB of Markdown, which is roughly 80,000 words. Very complex documents can also hit the time or memory limit; splitting them helps.
Why are my images missing?
For security, the converter never reads files or fetches web addresses. Images embedded as data: URIs are kept. In the HTML export, image links are kept as they are.

GitHub-flavoured Markdown, the variant used on GitHub and by most editors, plus a YAML front matter block for title, author and date.
Can I convert files instead of pasting?
Yes. Use Open file or drop a .md file anywhere on the page. The file is read by your browser and only its text is sent.
